I know that posting is happening few and far between these days, but that is the craziness that is my life right now! With the moving and the packing all my fibery goodness has been hidden away until I can get it into the new apt.
So for now let me tell you about two things I have recently gotten myself into :).
Plurk should be the first thing you should know about. It’s a great amount of fun and totally Bo-nanner-rific
. (If you plurk it, the Bo-nanas will come)
The next great idea was introduced to me in Plurk. Miss V (of Lime & Violet) has started up a wonderful chapter for Farmgirl Sisterhood full of the lovely ladies of plurk! We are the Plurkette Hencircle. Whether we are city girls or country girls, we are getting together to share our inner and outer farmgirl. Our first assignment, introduce ourselves.
I am Corey. I am a 26 year old city girl (but a complete mountain girl in my soul) residing in Charlotte NC with my wonderful husband. No, I did not grow up on a farm, or even around a lot of farms. I did spend time out in Indiana with my mom’s side of the family. Most of them did live on farms, but other than going to pet the animals and get lost once or twice in the cornfield, I didn’t really do much on a farm.
So what is it drawing me this way you ask? Well, as I am getting older I am starting to understand the value of the handmade and homegrown.
I started knitting about a year ago, and started spinning about 3-4 months ago. This kind of creativity is leading me to want to do more.

What else can I create that will be good for this environment, my home, my family, etc.?

I want to do more.
I want to learn to plant something and make it grow even if it is just a small plant box off our apartment balcony. At this point the only think we have grown is from our Aero-Garden (which is really cool if you haven’t ever seen one).
So, at this point I am trying to tap into my inner farmgirl, let us see where the journey takes me!
Love, Stitches, & Farmgirl Sisterhood!
