To my mother,
I owe you more than I will ever be able to begin to repay. You have taught me a lot about life, love, and how to be the person I am today. You have always been there for me, to pick up the pieces when I had fallen apart, and to laugh and celebrate moments of joy. You are my mother, and my best friend. Who could ask for anything more?
Happy mother’s day mom.
Love,
Corey

“One short day, in the Emerald City!” Forgive me slightly, but I have been to see Wicked rather recently, and I can’t seem to get it out of my head! It seems to be so even when I am buying yarn!!!

Can we just have a moment to just sigh over this!!!

This was my first skein of Yarn Nerd, and I tell you people, it WILL NOT be the last!

I know it is hard to see, but this is the 900 MHz Sock. I jumped on this when the Loopy Ewe got it in.

I am wishing that I had gotten maybe another skein of it.

Hmmm…. maybe I shall order from his website sometime!! Hope you all enjoy!

I really cannot believe it is week three for the FAL! I know I have been doing WW for about 14 weeks now and THAT blows my mind. Well, I know last week was kind of a downer. You wanna know what happened to me this week?

WEEEEELLLLLL…. much has been improved, even though I was less of an angel about what I ate this week. I blame The Counter.

I did get to ride on Sunday though. I did a six mile bike ride and I felt great! It is such a meditative thing for me. I really need to think about getting a little iPod to take wiht me. I have my big clunker, I am just afraid it will fall off mid ride and bust into a zillion pieces.

Ok so the numbers… here they are!

Last week: 231.4

This week: 229.6 (or 229.4 according to the WW scale)

Total loss: 24.6lbs

Either way that is at least 1.8 lbs down for the week! YAY!!

I am a mere .4lbs away from my 10% loss. Is that not incredible?????!!!!!! I am just amazed at how well this is working for me. It is really starting to help my self esteem and feeling of accomplishment. I had to go buy a few pairs of pants on Sunday. I bought one pair that fit right now and two that are slightly too tight, because by next week sometime they should fit. At the rate I am going anyway!!!

I hope that everyone else out there that is trudging on with their fitness fight is doing well! And if you are going through a rough patch, don’t worry! I’ve been there, I still struggle!!! You can overcome any of it!!

What happens when… May 5, 2008

What happens when you are a knitter and you do not go to Maryland Sheep & Wool?

Well, you whine a bit, you wish you could go, you check the blogs of people who did go everyday hoping to live vicariously through them.

And then you find some really great people to do a yarn store crawl with!!!!! I was both a good blogger and a bad blogger that day. I started off good and once we walked into that first shop I was bad. Sooooo I only have two pictures from the day. Sorry! But there shall be many pictures of the swag I came back with later! Keep an eye out on Yarn Pr0n days and such!!!

Dani on the left driving and Mary on the right. We are headed across the border!

Haha! I see you!

Dani, Mary, and I got in the car nice and early, headed across the border to Fuzzy Mabel’s yarn shop in Good ‘ole Lancaster, SC. I used to live there so it’s a little weird going there when I do get a chance. But what a lovely shop!! They have a great selection and a very nice open shop to walk around in! I will definitely be making a trip back there!!

Next we headed back up to Pineville to grab some grub at the yummy Mexican restaurant around the corner from my house!

After stuffing our faces we ended up at Charlotte Yarn. I have no idea how that happens ever!! But we hung out and saw Jane Prater!! YAY! We stayed long enough to have a beer with her and then we called it a day! It was quite fantastic and I hope we get to do it again sometime!

Ok! And on to what today is all about!!! Hand spun Monday!!!! The first one I gave you a sneak peek at a few days ago. It is the Romney fiber that Heather has a metric ton of and graciously let us dye at her house!!

This is about 1/2 a lb. of Falkland top that Cristi was wonderful to share with me! I wasn’t planning on showing it yet, but It is the first project that I have spun that I am sooooo proud of!! There is nothing over-spun and it is just gorgeous!!!!

There really are no other words! I love it!

No, it isn’t sushi, although it does look yummy doesn’t it?

You think you know what it is don’t you. But you are saying,

“How could she possibly have this? It is a discontinued colorway!! I mean, the Yarn Harlot herself coudn’t even find this!!!”

And I respond, yes my friend, I did find it, I was lucky enough to stumble across this at Knitch!

The answer is right under this picture! I betcha J.P. knows what it is!!!!

Ahhh, yes. It is Regia Nation Color. Colorway 5399 Lot 14069. Discontinued and oooohhhh sooooo beautiful!

It is 75% New Wool and 25% Polyamide and there are 50 g in each ball.

I love that they look like they are completely different colorways, but they are not!!!

I feel some very fun and festive socks in my future!!
